The weather here in Missoula, Montana has been crazy lately.  Does anyone know of a good jacket light enough to stow in the back of my jersey ideally with zip off arms and not that bright safety green?

Does http://www.rei.com/product/766288/gore-bike-wear-phantom-bike-jacket-mens meet your criteria?  Available in red, if you don't like fluorescent.

I've got two, a light weight one from Canari, bright yellow, I got from REI a couple years ago and a medium weight one from illumiNITE which is blue with the reflection dots. Both have front pockets and one back pocket, all zippered. The Canari also has a strap connected inside the back pocket so you can put the jacket inside the rear pocket and wear it as a fanny pack. I've strapped it to the front of my drop bars so I still have access to my jursey pockets when on a extra long weather changing rides.
Here in the Pacific Northwest these jackets are the only way to go for 9 months out of the year.

The current issue of Adventure Cyclist has a review of the Sugoi Versa.

Pearl Izumi makes a vest with zip-off arms in their Elite series. I got just the vest, and am very happy with it. Very light, very bright, and just the right weight to take the chill off in a stiff breeze without making you sweat.

Here's a link to the version with zip-off sleeves: http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3884549

I was going to suggest my police cyclist jacket, but that probably is a bit more than you are looking for.  ::)

Seriously, I also have a Pearl Izumi Zepherr, from back when it had convertible sleeves. (I think the current zip-off model is called the "Elite") and it is very comfortable and has proven very durable over about 15 years. Still wear it sometimes.

Ride safe!

Thanks for the input everyone.  I ended up with a Novara Conversion jacket for $50. http://www.rei.com/product/786477/novara-conversion-bike-jacket-mens  It's made of some light weight cordura rolls up to fit in the back of my jersey.  Unlike the Novara jersey's it actually does fit true to size or at least similar to Sugoi's stuff.  Happy trails!

I had a Pearl Izumi jacket with removable sleeves. I now have a Pearl Izumi gilet. I lost the sleeves somewhere in Montana. If you come across a pair of sleeves without a jacket, send them home please.
