Touring bicycle choices

Hi

Another plug for the Surly Cross Check. I rode every thing in the $1000 to $1500 range that would tick the touring box. I am a 'big lad "5'11 and 195 pounds so i needed something strong but also quick. The long haul trucker go me interested in Surly but in the end despite the obvious comfort factor it just felt to long and slow - not least since the reality is that i am more of a day rider than a long distance adventure tourer.

Great bike, great price and if you get the fully built version you wont need to spend too much to upgrade some basics - saddle etc.
