Does anyone wear Compression Tights after.....
« on: June 04, 2011, 04:30:04 pm »
Just wondered after a day in the saddle on a long distance tour if anyone wears compression tights to help with muscle recovery or for any other reason.

Are they any help?

Check the major cycling and racing sites for reviews of compression systems. Separating the hype from reality is difficult. I've worn a pair and found gem to be tight and soothing but more like an embrace. Whether they helped is conjecture on my part but I'd say, no, total marketing fluff. However, I liked the feeling of the embrace so the answer is, yes, cool product.

I've been packing them for the last few years for tours and have been a big fan.  After a few long days in the saddle, I start to get heavy legs, and they seem to keep the blood flow moving at the end of the day when I'm setting up camp or sitting around.  If you don't have any circulation problems, I would say you probably don't need them, but if you get 'heavy' or 'loaded' legs between rides where blood pools up and causes bloating or inflammation, I think they are worth checking out.
