Garmin City Navigator North America NT - on my mac?

I am wondering if it would be worth purchasing the City Navigator maps to have on my mac for looking at and planning my routes even without having the gps? I don't have intentions of purchasing a gps, besides my iphone, but maybe it would still be worth having the software on my computer for the information.

What do you think?

I would use the free Google Maps for that.

Almost, I am due to start my trip on the 9th, so a bit over a week from now. Is it this normal to be worried about the trip as I am? Because I am nervous as can be.

I went through the gps waffling too, and I decided to just use paper maps.  If you are using the ACA maps, that is all you need.  I didn't take any electronic equipment--I didn't want the hassle of having to recharge it.   For non-ACA routing, I stopped at libraries before hand and googled for information.

Just getting out the door is the hardest part.  For the first day, plan a reasonable distance to ride and a place to stay the first night, and just get out the door.

Have you done an overnight trip to a local campground just to test everything out?  That is really helpful.

You are going to have a great adventure, which you will remember for the rest of your life!

+1  And when nothing goes horribly wrong, you will realize that it's not scary.  But if something does, learn from it and realize that its an anomaly.

If you sit around waiting for the nerves to stop, you will never get out the door.
