US rt 9 in the area of Marist College there is MAJOR CONSTRUCTION on the highway - there is at first a DIVERSION
 for the hwy. being built then a pedestrian underpass is being built - I think I had read/heard the term underpas

to avoid the above - recomended - one should use SR 9G
