trans am route Breckenridge CO

I checked all the recent posts for the Trans Am Route in CO specificaly the Breckenridge area - there is NO mention of the big (stage) bike race in the area the USA Pro Cycling Challenge of particular note in regards to the Trans Am route is stage 5 Steamboat Springs to Breckenridge - this stage will go through Kremling and finish in Breckenridge - it would seem that a part of the race route will be along CO SR 9 - I would presume the road will be closed in a "rolling barricade" for a relatively short time however,as Breckenridge will be the finish town in all likelyhood there will be no room at the Inn (the Fireside) and other lodging in Breckenridge - in addition to all the racers there are the team support staff,the media,race officials,spectators etc. etc. etc.

In other words - forget about showing up un-anounced on a tour and finding a place to stay for the night

however,if you were to arrive a few days before Aug. 27 and be a spectator - just be sure to show the racers your photos of all that wonderfull scenery that they missed ...
