adirondack loop

hi, much appreciate advice from bicyclists who've ridden the adventure cycling adirondack loop.  i'm thinking of riding it early-mid sept, and wondered about traffic, food and ice cream, camping possibilities, and also suggestions on things to do along the way.  usually i tour on car free long distance bike paths, but the adirondack loop looks like a great trip.  how much of it is along lakes?  thanks, appreciate the help,

Hey Jeff, I finished the loop two weeks ago and had a blast. It was very hot but still refreshing. I beat all the rain. LOL Anyway, the ride is very scenic and many of the small towns were nice to visit. On the main roads the shoulders were plenty wide and drivers considerate, on the secondary roads the drivers were very inconsiderate. Most were so focused on hauling their trailer or boat they didn't even notice me. Twice I was brushed by a trailer and I was wearing bright green and red and rode as far right as I could. Whatever you do, assume they don't see you, especially at streets and crossings. The junk on the non-highway roads was tough on tires and yet enjoyable. I think the best part of my journey was from Albamy up to Speculator. A fantastic and scenic ride. If you get to Speculator, there is a fantastic cafe/coffee shop in the back of the Speculator department store parking lot. Be sure to take a break there. Be safe and pay attention, the drivers won't be.
