Hey there.  It was perfect here in Me as well.  Rode this am and farted around the rest of the day.  I don't see that many posts in the Ne forum.  Any reason you can think of for that.  Sure no shortage of bike up here.  John

I suppose most topics are not that regional. We see a few questions about the Green Mountains Loop and the NT over in Routes. Before long, someone will ask about foliage.

Hah! The color is beautiful every year, and last year it was knock-your-eye-out stunning. The very best way to see it is on a touring bike or a mountain bike, taking the unpaved roads to avoid the Kansas tour buses and the distracted city drivers. 52% of Vermont's public highways are unpaved, so these are easy to find. Get into the hills for the best views. There's nothing like a flaming red-orange hillside across a little blue lake, accented by puffy white clouds.

OK, back to earth. Gotta go wax some chains.

Fred it sounds absolutely wonderful, why on earth am heading for Australia to cross the Nullarbor -which means no trees - just miles of desert and outback.  Guess I wont be bothered out there by tourist buses  ;D

Of course, Irene might blow all the leaves off the trees!

Yeah, there are nice routes but you have to ask the locals. Next time, PM me at the address in my profile.

The Green Mountains Loop goes through town, taking a nice route to Burlington with low traffic and views of Lake Champlain. Hilly, though.

Keene, NH checking in. Still too early for fall foliage colors here in SW NH at the end of September. However, it has been decent touring/riding weather.
