would be nice that once you have received the info you are looking for,  that everyone remove your post so that people do not have to scroll through hundreds of post.  Just a thought.... :-\

That sounds like a very bad idea to me.  Old posts are valuable because a search will usually result in answers to most questions without having to ask them again.

I agree. It's a bad idea. The answer is not solely for the one person who asked the question.

if you don't want to scroll through "hundreds of posts" you can tag threads and you will get notified when somebody responds, and I think it will even provide you with a direct link to the thread. I see this forum software supports that but I haven't tried it here.

Wouldn't be much of a forum left if everyone did that. :o

Just click on "Show unread posts since last visit."!  Unfortunately it does leave the ones you haven't read showing for a long time, so to remedy that, when you're done reading the ones you want (by right-clicking and choosing "Open link in new tab"), click "MARK ALL MESSAGES AS READ" at the bottom of the index page.  Very easy solution.

I'm glad the old posts from a LOOONG way back are still here.  I've learned alot from them without having to ask.

+1!  There have been many times that I read something with only mild interest, but later had a situation that made me much more interested and I wanted to go back and read more, even years later, and I remembered enough to do a search and find it again.
